'Farm'-ing Bio-fuels
Sustainable Initiatives for a Greener Future
Partnering for Clean and Green Energy in India
In alignment with the Paris Agreement and India’s Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) towards achieving Net Zero Carbon emissions, we embrace India’s vision and mission. Our goals are dedicated to supporting this national vision for clean and green fuels. We are focusing on developing biofuel units in Bikaner and other parts of India. To further this commitment, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR-NCL (National Chemical Laboratory) to develop biofuels such as Dimethyl Ether (DME) using sustainable energy sources.
Our Approach To Develop Bio-fuels Units
VSLP aims to support green initiatives by developing multiple bio-fuel units to achieve distributed generation. Our strategy includes:

Self-reliance in Feedstock Supply Chain
Develop bio-fuel units to support Govt of India's green initiatives.
Aspire to become self-reliant in feedstock supply chain.
Focus on cultivating energy crops such as elephant grass, Napier grass, and maize for CBG units.
Benefits to Farmers:
Turning barren land into fertile land
Imparting biomass energy usage to rural women
Farming through organic manure
10% Napier grass fodder for cattle will be provided
Improves the fertility of the farmland
Large land acquisition will enable setting up CBG plant nearby
Four crops per year
Modern farm equipment
Regular income on leased land

Evolving Biofuel Business - 3F Model
VSLP is committed to a Biofuel Strategy guided by Circular Economy principles, following the 3F-Model: Feedstock, Fuel, and Fertilizer. This model operates on circularity, wherein organic waste and by-products from biofuel production are recycled as fertilizer, establishing a Sustainable Closed-Loop System.

Feedstock

Feedstock holds the key to our biofuel business and is core to the 3F strategy. It covers areas like land preparation, natural agronomy practices, harvesting, and storage.
Fuel

Fuel is the purpose of setting up the 3F-Model. We ensure that the Fuel is GREEN in the true sense and fits the distributed generation model, near the demand hub.
Fertilizer

The residue produced in the production of biofuel is rich manure that can enhance the potential of the soil, in turn, producing sustainable biomass.

Government Initiatives on Sustainability

Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT):
Goal: Establish 5,000 CBG plants.
Current Status: Less than 100 functional plants due to various challenges.

CBG Blending Obligation (CBO):
Initiative: Mandatory blending of CBG in CNG.
Benefits: Encourages investment, promotes circular economy, and aims for Net Zero Emission.
Roll-out: Voluntary now, mandatory from April 1, 2025

Sustainable Agrarian Mission on use of Agri-residue in Thermal Power Plants (SAMARTH)
Focus: Co-firing biomass in thermal power plants.
Benefits: Reduces fossil fuel consumption, addresses climate change and smog issues in Delhi and NCR.
About VS Lignite Power Private Limited (VSLP)
VS Lignite Power Private Limited (VSLP) is a Hyderabad-based company with a captive lignite mine feeding a 135 MW lignite-based power plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan. We have also set up a 10 MW solar power plant. With over a decade of experience in power generation, we are committed to reducing fossil fuel usage and transitioning to green energy sources. Our goal is to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030 through the establishment of Bio Fuels plants across India.
